• 5 nights lodging in a newly built trullo, the region's distinctively shaped dwellings.
• Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Matera. Inhabited from pre-historic times, this ancient site has cave dwellings dug in the rock along the slopes of a hill. Savor the local olive oil which is made from more than 60 million olive trees in the area.
• Venture south to Lecce, a baroque jewel, and marvel at the carved sandstone cathedrals and piazzas on a walking tour with a local guide.
• Morning visit to a local outdoor market. Experience wonderful vegetables and regional foods from more than 200 vendors.
• Visit 2 UNESCO World heritage sites, Matera and Alberobello. Wander among Alberobello's white washed circular dwellings with conical shaped roofs, unique to the region, known as trulli. Be captivated by the distinctive cave dwellings of Matera, continuously inhabited for at least 3,000 years.
